Teacher, Scott ES

I have been with CCSD for 10 years, teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. I also teach a methods class for University of Phoenix. I love working with new teachers because I can learn from them as well.

I received my M.Ed from Tennessee State University. I’m a Tennessee girl at heart! I love hiking, genealogy, and going back to Tennessee every chance I can.

I think I have always enjoyed teaching. As the youngest child in my family, I felt like I wanted to contribute in some meaningful way just like my older siblings. I found school came easy to me and I felt appreciated when asked to help other students.   I am an AVID trained elective teacher, a Learning Strategist, and a Springboard Coach. My interests include reading young adult literature, spending time with my husband, cooking, actively participating in my church, and working with new teachers.

I love to scrapbook, bake, spend time with my family and my two dogs. I have worked for the CCSD for the last 10 years teaching both Kindergarten and First Grade.  You will find me at the EMU’s helping new teachers find fun ways to keep their students motivated to learn.   If you come to my classroom you may describe it as high energy, creative, organized, and a student work environment. If you have any questions just ask, I am always willing to help!

PZ 12 Inst. Coach

I have 20 years of teaching in CCSD.   When I am not attending my daughter’s high school band competitions, my son’s cross country meets, or my husband’s business events; I spend my weekends facilitating professional development for new teachers and teaching adults in the ARL program.  Finding resources for teachers is one of my education passions.  Remember, I am the only “Tika” in the school district, so email me with your questions. I look forward to meeting all of the new teachers.

Teacher, Stuckey ES

I moved to Las Vegas from upstate NY in 2004.  I just love teaching math and seeing how each student looks at numbers so differently.  My students teach me new things all of the time as well.  I have had an awesome time participating as a teacher leader this year because I have learned so many new things that I can take back to my classroom and use, since education is always changing and evolving.  I look forward to working with you all at some point.

I love traveling, spending time with my family &  enjoying a humorous movie with my  husband.  Not only am I interested in playing soccer with my children, making cookies and muffins on a free day, but I love to play an occasional game of dominoes along with a pick-up basketball game from time to time.  My strengths are being positive, joyful, & easy going.  I have my Ed.S. from Nova Southeastern University- Las Vegas, a Masters from the College of Santa Fe in Albuquerque, NM, and a B.S. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go BIG RED!!!).  I’m sure one day I will also pursue a Doctorate.

Teacher, Cahlan ES

I earned a BA in Sociology from Washington State University-GO COUGS-and a M.Ed. from City University of Seattle, at which time I left the insurance industry behind and moved to Las Vegas to begin my teaching career! I moved here on a whim and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. I’ve been with CCSD for 9 years teaching both kindergarten and third grade. I appreciate all the opportunities afforded to me by teaching in such a large district, especially working with the Onboarding Department this year. The excitement and energy all the new teachers bring to CCSD is such a motivation!

k-5 Tech, Schorr ES

This is my third year teaching in CCSD. During the school day, I am cultivating the next crop of super-geeks in my K-5 technology class. Outside of school enjoy teaching others how to become as geeky as my students and I. My proudest accomplishment was hosting Edcamp Vegas this past summer, it was so exciting to get to see so many amazing teachers from the valley and hear their thoughts on our wonderful profession. I can’t wait to connect with you and help you out with whatever you need! (Bonus points if it is technology related)
